I composed the song "Rosie" as a prequel of Supertramp's song "Rosie had everything planned". Supertramp's song tells the story of Rosie who took rumours serious and killed her husband. The song does not explain what the rumours were about.

My song "Rosie" explains what the rumours were about. Here are the lyrics of "Rosie".

Verse 1
I remember when she smiled, it lit up every room,
But now there’s something different, a sense of looming doom.
Rosie doesn’t trust me, I see it in her eyes,
She’s listening to whispers, believing all the lies.

Verse 2
It started with a rumor, just a careless word,
A friend of hers saw me, but the truth was never heard.
I was meeting with her best friend, it didn’t cross my mind,
That what I thought was harmless would turn her heart unkind.

Chorus
Rosie is changing, she slips out of reach,
Her love is turning cold, like a chill I cannot breach.
She used to be so certain, so steady and so kind,
But now she’s lost in shadows, with doubt that clouds her mind.

Verse 3
She heard it from a neighbour, who thought they knew it all,
Said they saw me with her best friend, meeting by the mall.
We’re planning something special, to make her birthday shine,
But Rosie thinks I’m hiding, and love’s on the decline.

Verse 4 I hope that she’ll forgive me, hope it’s not too late,
The darkness keeps on growing, fueled by doubt and hate.
